Third Way creates timeless clothing using deadstock, regenerated, and organic fabrics from Japan, Italy, and the United States. Instead of focusing on a seasonal narrative, Third Way works within the constraints of functional, premium materials. As a result, each collection is a unique discovery process through the hidden corners of warehouses in LA's garment district.
Foster Project partnered with Third Way to create a subtle and informative identity shortly after the project's launch. The process explored the relationship between a garment and its materials, designers, and wearers to construct a visual system that attempts to suggest rather than demand how it is perceived. Inspired by naturalistic contemporary art, the identity uses letters, symbols, and photographs to encourage an active, patient consideration of the clothing.
